Although it is a company in its sixth decade, with over £6B in revenues and almost 20,000 employees, Boston Consulting Group has only recently started an in-house senior-level recruiting function. Yet it is coming out of the gates strong, with a heavy focus on research and market intelligence from the outset, which is perhaps not surprising given that it is a global management consulting firm with an emphasis on business strategy. We will hear from BCG’s Dom Curtis and Nick Dabinett on their progress so far, their lessons learned, as well as their plans to keep growing the function as the business continues to grow and change around them.

In our work hiring at the highest level for our organizations, we literally cannot be too careful. References are a favourite of many, but even these can be flawed, and we must now consider other ways of checking our potential hires’ backgrounds. Mintz Group, experts in the extended background-checking space, will not just check candidates’ social media histories and work history, but also look for tell-tale patterns that give clues of potential risks, which might include sexual harassment. Yet, even this may not be foolproof, and Mintz Group Partner Kelsey Froehlich will join us to share what can be done to mitigate such risk as much as possible, and what may still slip through the cracks.
