1:30 pm Modernizing the Executive Hiring Process for the US Army.
The US Army is featured as a model agency by the Office of Personnel Management. Yet some claim the Army's selection process for bringing new civilian candidates into the executive ranks is lengthy, paper-intensive, and needs updating. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Army, Gwen DeFilippi, is leading the organization’s civilian executive hiring transformation, and will join us to share her journey so far, as well as brainstorm on ways to modernize the selection process in order to ensure the civilian portion of the Army's leadership team is as diverse and prepared as it needs to be for the future.

Almost 30 years ago, Drs. Joyce and Robert Hogan demonstrated a link between personality and organization effectiveness. Today, Dr. Robert Hogan, President, Hogan Assessment Systems, is a leading authority on personality assessment and leadership, and will share with us his most recent thinking.
